The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team is ranked for the first time in more than a decade.
In the Sports Network media poll, released today, the Mocs (4-2, 3-1 Southern Conference) came in at No. 24. The last time UTC was ranked was on Nov. 3, 1997, when the Mocs started their season 6-1.
Right behind UTC in the Sports Network poll, one of the two major Football Championship Subdivision polls, is No. 25 Furman (4-2, 2-1), which will host the Mocs on Saturday.
The Mocs didn’t quite make the top 25 in FCS coaches’ poll. UTC has 34 points in that poll, good enough for tied for 27th in the FCS.
