1 charged in East Ridge stabbing

One man is in Erlanger hospital with multiple stab wounds and another in the Hamilton County Jail after an incident in East Ridge.

Police said Nathan J. Shropshire, 25, was stabbed in the back, arm, and head at the Cliff Dwellers Apartments, 712 Summit Ave. His injuries are not life-threatening, authorities said.

Tallis C. Mason, 26, is charged with attempted murder, East Ridge police spokesman Erik Hopkins said in a news release. He also faces charges of violating probation in two other cases, Hopkins said.

He said police were called to the apartments shortly after 5 p.m., but he didn’t give a motive for the assault. Mason also was described as wounded and bleeding but it wasn’t clear how he was injured.

Mason is scheduled to appear in East Ridge Municipal Court at 5 p.m. Nov. 9, Hopkins said.
