Madrigal Dinner tickets available

Staff Report

Tickets now are on sale for Covenant College’s Madrigal Dinners, scheduled at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 10-11.

Begun in 1969 by Dr. John Hamm, the dinners have become a community tradition, according to college officials. The dinner is inspired by 16th-century feasts given by the wealthy.

Sponsored by the music department, the event features entertainment by the Madrigal Singers, who dress in authentic Renaissance costumes and perform English carols, madrigals and traditional Christmas music. They are accompanied by the musicians of the Renaissance Consort.

Tickets are $55 per person and can be reserved online at www.covenant.edu/tickets. While most tables accommodate eight attendees, there are a few tables for four only. Tickets also may be purchased by leaving a message at 706-419-2800 or calling 706-419-1453. You may e-mail ticket requests to sarah.dewaters@covenant.edu, and someone will call to finalize the reservation. A waiting list is available for those who call after all available seats are sold.
