Hamilton County: Bond lowered for teacher in cemetery case

A high school teacher accused of holding nine teenagers at gunpoint in a cemetery had his bond lowered today by $155,000.

Hamilton County General Sessions Judge Bob Moon lowered the bond for Stacy Swallows from $180,000 to $25,000.

Swallows, 45, a diesel mechanics teacher at Sequoyah High School, blocked the path of the teenagers with his car as they tried to leave Shipley Cemetery in Sale Creek on Saturday, according to police. He was charged with nine counts of false imprisonment and nine counts of aggravated assault.

Swallows lives near the cemetery at 920 Shipley Cemetery Road.
