FORT OGLETHORPE: Several events set for holiday weekend

Labor Day weekend is upon us and there are several Fort Oglethorpe events.

Today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the polo field, there will be World War II battle re-enactments and a patriotic concert with a $5 admission. Dinner and auction with guest speaker George Patton Waters, the grandson of Gen. George Patton, will be at the Colonnade at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25.

Labor Day at The Post is Monday, with the parade beginning at 11 a.m. Craft and vendor spaces are $25. Contact info@6thcavalrymuseum.com for applications. Performances will be given by Black Cat Moon, Dexter Thomas Band and Russ Maddux and the Micks. There will be lots of family fun including the Kid's Play Zone, pony rides, and a petting zoo.
