Body found at Ross’s Landing

Chattanooga police have recovered the rest of the body after discovering a leg in the water near Ross’s Landing Wednesday.

The remains are of a male, but race and identity are still unknown, according to a police release.

All of the remains are at the Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s office. Investigators are looking into the possibility that the person may have been homeless, which would explain the lack of missing persons reports.

The first step in the investigation is to identify the body then the manner of death, wrote Sgt. Jerri Weary, police spokeswoman.
