Pianist David Walters will present a double-bill concert of classical and jazz works tonight as Bryan College presents the first program of its Fine Arts Series for the new academic year.
Dr. Sigrid Luther, professor of music, said Walters “is back by popular demand. He always presents a wonderful mix of classical and jazz.”
Walters is on the piano faculties of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and the Cadek Conservatory of Music and has performed extensively at universities throughout the area. He also has performed as a soloist for the U.S. Governors Conference and for former President Gerald Ford. He and his jazz trio have performed three times at Chattanooga’s Riverbend Festival.
Walters will be joined by Eric Reed, principal cellist of the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra and cellist of the CSO String Quartet, for two pieces.
The free concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Rudd Auditorium on the Dayton, Tenn., campus.
