Create energy from kudzu
We are now being told that the invasive kudzu vine is a contributing factor to poor air quality. Everywhere we go we see acres and acres that are being swallowed up by kudzu, which destroys all other plant life encountered as it spreads.
I personally am not a great enthusiast for ethanol production as an answer to our energy crisis. However, considering world hunger, I would be delighted to know we were using kudzu to produce ethanol instead of corn, wheat, etc. Why are we not turning a liability into an asset?
With present-day technology, I refuse to believe that we cannot build machines that can go to nearly any type terrain and efficiently harvest kudzu to feed ethanol production plants.
Not only is there a plentiful supply of kudzu to manufacture ethanol, utility companies, city governments, departments of transportation, parks and forestry services would no doubt gladly pay the ethanol industry for the service of keeping the beastly plant in check.
