Nationally recognized book artists Peter and Donna Thomas will be in Chattanooga with their traveling Gypsy Wagon Bookmobile on Wednesday.
From 2 to 5 p.m., they will lead a book-making workshop, showing how to construct nested, accordion pop-up books using a binding they developed. Cost is $30 per person, with all materials included. Class limit is 15. To reserve a space, email nsbernhardt@gmail.com.
From 6:30 to 8 p.m., they will lead a free talk on “The Artists’ Book: Four-Dimensional Art.” The Thomases use their Wandering Book Artists trips as a way to expose different audiences to the concept of artists’ books. They will use books they have made as examples. The talk will conclude with a song or two on Peter’s unique ukulele book.
Both programs take place at CreateHere, 55 E. Main St.
