The dance department at the Center for Creative Arts is presenting “Impulse” at 7:30 tonight in the school auditorium. Tickets are $5 and available at the door.
“Impulse” is an evening of original choreography featuring the Project Motion dance ensemble and the CCA Student Choreography Project.
Choreographers in The Student Choreography Project have been responsible for all aspects of the work: choreography, music, rehearsals and costumes. The project teaches “real-world lessons” about what it takes to create and perform original concert works, as well as the collaborative and directing processes.
Act Two of the concert features the Project Motion Dance Ensemble performing ballet, modern dance and hip-hop. Resident choreographer Jessica Bowman and guest choreographers Keith Fitzpatrick, Lisa Fusillo and Laurel Zahrobsky set the works.
The dance department is under the direction of Karen Wilson.
