Catoosa already benefits from the county having three interchanges with Interstate 75, and its economic fortunes should improve even more due to an upcoming sewer project in Ringgold.
A multi-million dollar project to extend sewer service to Exit 345 (Tunnel Hill) on I-75 is set to begin this summer, according to Ringgold City Manager Dan Wright.

Wright said the project’s first phase has a price tag of about $4 million and will be funded by local special purpose local option sales tax revenue and a $300,000 Appalachian Regional Commission grant.
“It will follow Chickamauga Creek to Highway 341, cross I-75 to the Shaw Plant and the industrial/commercial area on U.S. Highway 41,” he said. “This primarily will allow commercial development, but Phase II will tie in some residential sewers.”
