Now we’ve heard everything.
A Swedish man’s obsession with hard-rock music has been formally declared a “disability,” gaining him special consideration by his employer – and government benefits.
The 42-year-old, Roger Tullgren, underwent psychological evaluations that led to the determination that he has a handicap.
Now, his employer gives him time off to attend rock concerts – though he is required to make up the missed time later, according to news accounts in Sweden.
He also is permitted to dress for work in a way that reflects his passion for hard-rock music, and he is allowed to listen to the music of his choice while performing his part-time duties as a dishwasher.
A letter explaining his “disability” says that it “puts him in a difficult situation in the labor market. Therefore he needs extra financial help” from the government.
It seems someone needs “help,” all right, but we’re not sure it’s only the rock music fan.
