Man charged with arson in Cromwell fire

Arkansas-LSU Live Blog

A 19-year-old Chattanooga man has been charged with setting a fire Tuesday night at the Cromwell Apartments at 3922 Dahlia St.

Chattanooga Fire Department spokesman Bruce Garner said in a news release that the fire department responded at 11:25 p.m. He said the fire was outside the building and burned itself out with minimal damage to the building and no injuries.

Garner said that after examining the scene and talking with witnesses, fire investigator Lt. Henry McElvain charged Joshua Anderson with aggravated arson because the fire was set in an occupied building and endangered the lives of its residents.
