Oenophiles will have an opportunity to eat good food, try new wines and perhaps go home with several bottles to add to a home cellar tonight at the Walden Club, 633 Chestnut St.
A blind tasting and contest is scheduled from 7 to 10 p.m. Funds raised will go to the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer.
Here’s how it works: Teams of one or two people should bring three bottles of the same red wine. Two will be covered and numbered, and the third will be put into “the cellar,” which will be already stocked with $500 worth of wine donated by Athens Distributing.
Guests will then sample the wines and hors d’oeurves and vote on their favorite vino. The team that brings the crowd favorite will take home all the wines from the cellar.
