Corker stood up to political interests
In a recent editorial, Columnist Dick Morris implied that Sen. Bob Corker cast his vote on the new arms treaty with Russia in order to please members of his good-old-boy Senate club.
Dick Morris is a career Washington insider; Bob Corker is a freshman senator who has shown the courage to stand up to powerful political interests.
Morris is offended because Corker bucked the Republican leadership. Corker’s vote was the opposite of one that was meant to ingratiate himself with a power block.
Now that the strategic arms treaty is ratified, I am thankful that Bob will be in the Senate to advise on the negotiation of a tactical arms treaty with Russia.
