A wreck on an icy portion of Interstate 24 resulted in a death this morning, said officials with the Georgia State Patrol.
The wreck occurred around 7:30 a.m. near exit 167, where the interstate merges with Interstate 59 in Dade County, said Georgia State Patrol CEO Justin Henderson. Only one vehicle was involved.
“The roads were definitely icy – it’s not clear whether that had something to do with the collision at this point,” said Henderson.
The name of the victim was not released late Tuesday.
