Vision Airlines, a Suwanee, Ga.-based airline that began as a charter line, is launching commercial flights in more than 20 cities, including Chattanooga. The airline will offer two nonstop flights per week from Chattanooga to Northwest Florida Regional Airport in Eglin, Fla., just outside Fort Walton Beach and Destin, beginning April 1 with rates starting at $89 one way, according to a company news release.

Trips to the Tampa Bay area and Orlando, Fla., are currently available at Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport through Allegiant Air.

To celebrate its expansion, Vision Airlines is offering a discounted rate on its Florida flights — at $49 one way — when booked by Jan. 23.

“The Gulf Coast is an extremely popular vacation destination for many of our friends across the Tennessee Valley, and we look forward to giving our travelers more time on the beach this year and less time in the car,” Mike Landguth, president of the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority, said in the release.
