Nature Day is Saturday

The people in charge of programming at Old Stone Fort State Archaeological Park are offering nine good reasons to get outdoors Saturday.

It’s Nature Day at the Manchester, Tenn., site, and five hikes and four special presentations will keep visitors busy from morning to midafternoon learning about birds, wildflowers, reptiles and the park in general.

The 876-acre park also offers fishing, camping and self-guided hiking. It is open 8 a.m. until sunset year-round. A museum that details the park’s prehistoric heritage is open 8 a.m.-4 p.m. daily (all times are Central).

The park is off U.S. 41 just north of Manchester (take Exit 110 off I-24), about 90 minutes from Chattanooga.
