Georgia announced Sunday that redshirt junior defensive end Jeremy Longo has been forced to give up football due to injuries.
The 6-foot-3, 251-pounder from Fort Lauderdale will be placed on medical scholarship. Longo appeared in three games during the 2009 season and four games last year, with his lone tackle last season coming in the opener against Louisiana-Lafayette.
Longo suffered a shoulder injury during spring practice in ’09 and missed last spring after undergoing knee surgery.
