The Bessie Smith Cultural Center will join forces with a variety of multicultural groups Tuesday to present its second annual Holidays Around the Globe.
This family-friendly celebration, scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m., will show how the holiday season is celebrated differently across cultures. Ethnic communities from across Chattanooga — including American Indians, Scots, Greeks and Cubans — will showcase their traditions and customs through song, dance, poetry and food. In addition to enjoying the performances, attendees will have an opportunity to purchase handcrafted jewelry, ornaments, clothing and other merchandise from multicultural vendors.
Admission is free. The Bessie is at 200 E. M.L. King Blvd.
Multicultural groups interested in participating may call Marty Mitchell at 266-8658 for more information.
