The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team overcame 16 turnovers and an aggressive UAB defense to pull away in the final minutes for a 65-59 win tonight at McKenzie Arena in the first round of the Preseason Women's NIT.
UTC will travel to Waco, Texas, on Saturday and face top-ranked Baylor on Sunday. Baylor was leading Howard 42-7 at the half tonight.
UAB led 52-46 with 6:36 to play, but the Lady Mocs were the ones hitting shots and making stops the rest of the way. Taylor Hall and Kylie Lambert led UTC with 13 points, Whitney Hood added 11 and Tenisha Townsend 10.
