Guerrys in semis of USTA seniors

SARASOTA, Fla. -- Chattanooga's Zan Guerry and his son Jeff from Lookout Mountain have won two matches in the USTA National Senior Father-Son Clay Court Championships at the Landings Racquet Club and play the No. 1 seeds in the semifinals this morning. The Guerrys, seeded fourth, defeated John and Mark Jacobson of Marietta, Ga., 6-2, 6-2 in the round of 16 and Texans Brian and Paul Cass 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 in the quarterfinals. Their semifinal opponents are Chris Parker of Atlanta and Jimmy Parker of Santa Fe, N.M. The final is set for 11 a.m. Sunday.

• Lee University, which has won the last three NAIA national women's soccer titles, hosts a 2011 first-round game today at 2 p.m. in Cleveland against Reinhardt (14-3-2), the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament champion that is making its first appearance in the nationals.
