Christianity about discrimination

Christianity about discrimination

Are a few sparks at Shorter College really a “firestorm”? The headline might as well have read “Christian College requires professors to be Christians.” That shouldn’t be news — though too often, nowadays, it is.

Maybe that is because the Shorter College protesters in the pictures didn’t receive much of an education. If they had, they might not have invented group names such as “Baptists Against Discrimination” (BAD) and “Christians Against Discrimination” (CAD) for their signs, and they might have realized that Christianity is all about discrimination — between saints going to heaven and sinners going to hell — and that God will be doing the discriminating. Evidently, He isn’t against it.

I also suggest they learn to discriminate between Christian and non-Christian beliefs. The Bible repeatedly indicates that homosexuals are going to hell unless, like all sinners, they repent. “God is love” (which was on one of the protester’s signs) means saving sinners, not hiring them to teach our young adults how to protest on behalf of sin. A real firestorm is what is waiting for Satan and his sinful followers, so you journalists, for your souls’ sake, should ask yourselves if you are being discriminating enough in your stories.

God’s rules are clear cut

I was disturbed but not surprised to see the Page 1 story concerning “discrimination” at Shorter University in Sunday’s paper (Nov. 20).

The young lady holding the “God Is Love” poster and the young man expressing “Baptists Against Discrimination” are undoubtedly good kids who care, but they also illustrate the need for clear thinking in the ongoing push to separate God from all seats of education.

Let’s look. Bottom line, God gives us rules to live by and tells us that we can choose to spend eternity in heaven (good place), or hell (very bad place.) Where is there a more clear-cut and potentially costly discrimination than that?

So if God discriminates, where is the love? In the same place. This is not Catch 22, because He told us and we won’t have to say, “I didn’t know” at our final exam. Moral sexual behavior is prominently defined.

The very word discrimination, before it was hijacked by secularists with particular personal objectives, meant “making the better choice” in all decision-making. It would be wonderful if that meaning could be restored and it would be unnecessary to make headlines about an issue that everyone, and especially students at a Christian college, should clearly understand.

Obama leading economy downward

We can see the effect of Obama’s policies and the direction he is taking the economy.

He has expanded government control over banks and other financial business, student loans, decreased oil and other energy production, wasted vast amounts of money on green business, and he has taken the crony capitalism to a new level.

Our deficit has now gone over $15 trillion. The Treasury Department has increased the loss amount on the auto bailouts from $14.33 billion to $23.6 billion. Some might think they were lying in the beginning.

The government apparently cannot sell their stock in GM because the value of their stock has gone down (who is buying their silly electric car).

We see stories about more losses in housing programs, and fewer people are able to buy homes. The value of our homes continues to decrease.

The unemployment numbers are more like 16 percent, and there are fewer jobs available than there were three years ago.

We all know that inflation is far more than the government reports.

Our oil and food prices keep going up.

This is the future picture of a liberal Democrat government.
