Woman charged with vehicular homicide in Chattanooga

A woman was arrested Thursday after a Hamilton County grand jury indicted her in connection to a fatal car crash three months ago.

Early in the morning on July 31, Latisha Jones, 32, of Signal Mountain, was driving a Jeep Wrangler north in the southbound lane of Highway 153, and eventually hit a Chrysler mini-van driven by 25-year-old Kevin Yates, who died a day later, according to an email from Chattanooga police spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary.

Jones, who Chattanooga police originally identified as Latisha Stephens, was charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication, reckless endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving, financial responsibility and driving under the influence.

Jones has posted bail.
