Southside ArtStroll takes its final bow

The last Southside ArtStroll of the season takes place tonight in a cluster of businesses along Main Street and Mitchell Avenue.

This is the third year for the event, which has been scheduled on the last Friday of the month since spring. Hours are 5-8 p.m.

Among the studios and galleries taking part are Area 61 Gallery/Showroom, Hart Gallery and Miki Boni Studios on Mitchell, Planet Altered and Red House on Main. In addition to art showcases and demonstrations, most of the galleries and studios offer refreshments.

For additional fare, two East Main Street eateries will be open. The Hot Chocolatier offers a selection of artisan chocolates and pastries. Conga Latin Foods Restaurant will serve up Central American food, as well as local art and live entertainment by Tom Cordell (trumpet) and Billy Lowery (percussion). They’ll play on the deck from 6 to 8 p.m., weather permitting.

Buzz Pedicabs will be available to ferry passengers between Southside sites or other places downtown. Drivers work for tips.
