Dr. J.D. Hickey is the new chief operating officer for BlueCross BlueShield of TennesseeThe former head of Tennessee’s TennCare program has been appointed chief operating officer of BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, effective May 1. Dr. J.D. Hickey, who joined BlueCross in March 2011, will succeed Bill Gracey who is set to become BlueCross’ chief executive officer on Jan. 1. Hickey earned both his medical and law degree and previously was a principal with McKinsey & Co. and an executive at Hospital Corp. of America and Qualifacts Systems, Inc.
