Concert benefits toy, gift Drive

The Creative Underground is partnering with Urban League of Greater Chattanooga’s Young Professionals Association and the management of the Bessie Smith Cultural Center to host a benefit concert Tuesday night.

“Voices of Hope: A Holiday Concert for the Soul” will begin at 6 p.m. in the Bessie Smith Cultural Center, 200 M.L. King Blvd.

“Admission to the celebration of Christmas through music is a child’s gift or monetary donation, which will benefit the annual Urban League Toy/Gift Drive,” says Shane Morrow, director of The Creative Underground.

“Through this campaign, we are able to use our God-given talents to make a positive difference in the lives of our local families and children.”

Ashley Gates, Urban League Young Professionals Association president, says the league works with administrators at schools to host after-school programs to identify families needing assistance for Christmas.
