Newnan defensive tackle DeAndre Johnson commits to Georgia

Georgia got its seventh football commitment for the 2013 signing class Tuesday when DeAndre Johnson gave a nonbinding pledge to Bulldogs coaches.

The 6-foot-3, 310-pound defensive tackle from Newnan, Ga., is Georgia’s sixth commitment from in state, though two of the six currently are elsewhere in junior college. According to Rivals.com, Johnson also had early scholarship offers from Georgia Tech, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
