A 7-year-old accidentally was shot Monday while playing with a pistol, police say.
The boy was flown to University of Tennessee Hospital after the incident shortly before 8 p.m. Monday, according to the Citizen Tribune. It wasn’t immediately clear where the child was struck.
Authorities described the wound as life-threatening.
Investigators said three boys were in a house playing with the loaded weapon they thought was a toy.
