Many of the hospitals in Chattanooga and the surrounding region have been recognized in different ways over the years for providing excellent care. And it was gratifying recently to learn of additional recognition for two hospitals in our area: Memorial in Chattanooga and Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, Ga.
According to a new study by Healthgrades, a Denver organization that provides consumers information on doctors and hospitals, Memorial and Hamilton are among the best hospitals in the United States, based on the outcomes of dozens of medical diagnoses and procedures. And Chattanooga itself was rated as the seventh-best U.S. city for overall hospital care.
We cannot say we are surprised, given the hospitals’ good reputations. But the recognition is welcome.
