ZZ Top tribute band Sharp Dressed Man will perform on Lake Winnepesaukah’s Jukebox Junction Stage in two shows Sunday. The trio re-creates the Texas boogie and rocking blues from more than three decades of live ZZ Top concerts in its shows.
According to Lake Winnie officials, performances feature the many outfits and hats, the choreographed stage moves and banter, the types of instruments, including the fuzzy guitars, stage props, even the microphone stands, made famous by the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers.
Scott Willis is the Billy Gibbons of the group. Willis is known for his exact musical duplication of the songs, as well as his growling voice. Even in conversations, people say he sounds like Gibbons.
Don Lybarger is on the bass doing the Dusty Hill part. Willis has said he didn’t think he could find anyone else as crazy about ZZ Top as he is, until Lybarger came along.
Don’s son, Dustin Lybarger, performs as Frank Beard. The younger Lybarger was playing drums professionally by age 12.
