If it’s not hot enough for you today, you can add fireworks, barbecue and live music if you head to Camp Jordan today.
East Ridge is hosting its first “Libertyfest,” a festival that will include fireworks, food vendors and live music for 12 hours at the 275-acre park.
East Ridge Parks and Recreation Director Stump Martin said the event would go on despite the expected triple-digit temperatures, though he encouraged people to bring tents and coolers.
“So far the entertainers all seem to be OK with going ahead. I haven’t heard otherwise,” Martin said. “We’ll have water, and of course there will be snow cones, Italian ice and all that.”
Performers will include country singer Cody McCarver, acoustic trio JoyScout featuring Chattnative Emily Kate Boyd, Roger Alan Wade, Davey Smith, Nathan Farrow, Chris McDaniel, the Stratoblasters and others.
The event, which has been sponsored by the East Ridge Merchants Association, East Ridge and Hamilton County, is expected to draw hundreds, Martin said.
