It’s time to gather the camp chairs and marshmallows. Outdoor Chattanooga is organizing another series of its Fireside at Greenway Farms programs.
Each Thursday through Oct. 18, families are invited to gather for music and other entertainment from 7 to 9 p.m. at the farm at 5051 Gann Store Road.
Featured in the free weekly programs are:
• Thursday: Bluegrass by the Lou Wamp Band.
• Sept. 27: Lodge Cast-Iron Potluck over the cookfire. Those attending are invited to bring a Dutch oven, skillet, cornbread baker or griddle with something to share. Lodge will bring additional goodies.
• Oct. 4: Bluegrass by Slim Pickins.
• Oct. 11: Dancing and drumming with the Chatt Town Drum Circle.
• Oct. 18: Spooky Nooga storytelling with Vincent Ivan Phipps.
Families can come early for canoeing on North Chickamauga Creek. From 6 to 7 p.m., canoes, paddles and life jackets will be available at the farm’s south launch. Cost is $8 (cash or check only). All equipment and staff supervision will be provided. Life jackets are sized for adults and for children 5 and older. Younger children should have their own life jackets.
