Chattanooga Lookouts' Yasiel Puig arrested after police clocked vehicle at 97 mph

Chattanooga Lookouts outfielder Yasiel Puig was traveling 97 miles an hour on Amnicola Highway early Sunday morning when he was pulled over by police, according to the arrest report. The arrest occurred at the 3200 block of Amnicola, which is just two blocks from the Chattanooga Police Department.

The arresting officer wrote "it took blue lights and multiple siren blasts to get the driver to stop."

Puig is a 22-year-old Cuban defector who signed a $42 million, seven-year contract last June with the Los Angeles Dodgers, which included $12 million up front.

He was speeding in a 50 mph zone. The speed limit on an interstate in Cuba is 100 kilometers, or 62 miles, per hour.
