Woman fatally shot, 2 arrested in armed robbery

SELMA, Ala. - Selma police say two men have been arrested on capital murder charges after a woman was shot during an armed robbery.

Police say officers found a woman who had been shot in the face lying on the sidewalk Saturday. Police were later told two other women who were with the victim were able to flee the scene but the suspects caught up and robbed them of a cellphone.

Lt. Curtis Muhannad says 18-year-old Larry Hunter of Selma and a 16-year-old boy are being held without bond in the Dallas County jail. The Associated Press typically doesn't identify juvenile crime suspects.

Muhannad says capital murder is punishable by up to life in prison or the death penalty.

It's unclear if Hunter has an attorney.
