Pedestrian struck tileA pedestrian, identified as Timothy Parker, 25, of Jamesville, N.Y., was struck and killed this morning by a vehicle on Chattanooga Road in Dalton, Ga., according to the Dalton Police Department.
The accident occurred just north of North Tibbs Road, a release said.
Johnny Montgomery, 61, of Rocky Face, Ga., was driving south on Chattanooga Road when he struck Parker, the release said.
It also said a witness to the collision said Parker was trying to cross Chattanooga Road when he was hit. The release said it was dark at the time and Parker was wearing dark clothing.
Parker was taken to Hamilton Medical Center where he died later from his injuries, the release said. Montgomery didn't sustain any injuries.
Police have the crash under investigation.
