The auto emission testing centers in Hamilton County will be closed May 25 and May 27 as part of their observance of Memorial Day.
The centers, however, will reopen May 28 with regular hours, according to a news release.
“Planning ahead helps keep waiting to a minimum,” Prentiss Taylor, program manager for the Tennessee Vehicle Inspection program administrated by Envirotest Systems, said. “It’s a good idea to take vehicles on Wednesdays and Thursdays when testing volume is usually light and to avoid testing in the final days of the month.”
The hours for the testing centers locally are:
– 5206 Austin Road in Hixson and 720 Eastgate Loop in Brainerd, Tuesdays through Fridays, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturdays, 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
– 1620 Riverfront Parkway near downtown and 7460 Bonnyshire Drive, Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
