If you liked the Lighted Boat Parade at Ross’s Landing last weekend, you might want to take part in the Light Your Bike Parade at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, in Coolidge Park.

Outdoor Chattanooga, 200 River St., is coordinating the fully escorted, family ride, which will cruise through downtown to the Southside and back again. There is no cost to participate, but before you take that spin on your Schwinn, you’ll need to adorn it with lights, glow sticks, stickers and holiday decorations – perhaps even a festive costume for yourself.

Helmets are recommended for all riders and are required for anyone 16 or younger. Kids under age 8 should be in a tag-along, cargo trailer or other safety carrier. Electric bikes, adult trikes, recumbents and adaptive trikes are welcome. Not allowed are motor scooters, mopeds, motorcycles, training wheels and push bikes.
