Suspect in Dalton wallet theft to turn self in

The man caught on videotape taking money from a wallet at a Dalton, Ga., grocery store has been identified and is to turn himself in, according to a Dalton Police Department news release.
Spokesman Bruce Frazier a theft warrant has been issued for the arrest of Samuel Chavez, 41, of 123 N. Grimes St. in Dalton. Chavez is scheduled to turn himself in Friday or Monday, Frazier said.
A video camera showed a man taking money from a wallet left at the self-checkout station at the Glenwood Avenue Kroger store, Frazier said.
When police made the video public, the man was identified as Chavez, who has been cooperative with investigators, Frazier said.
