What: More than 3,260 folks walked in the annual Grateful Gobbler Walk at Coolidge Park.

Benefits: The walk raised $200,000 for the Chattanooga Community Kitchen’s new Maclellan Shelter for Families, located on 11th Street. The shelter has 13 units with 64 beds and is the first emergency shelter of its kind in the city that allows families to remain together as they search for permanent housing solutions. Previously mothers with young sons or fathers of young daughters have been separated to be housed in male-only or female-only locations.
