The Lee University basketball teams ended the home portion of their first regular season in NCAA Division II and the Gulf South Conference with an 83-77 Lady Flames victory and a 59-52 Flames loss Saturday against Alabama-Huntsville.
Hollie German scored 21 points and Madison Lee and Myriah Iles added 15 each in the first-place Lady Flames’ 12th consecutive victory, Lee with eight rebounds and six assists and Iles with four blocked shots. Rachel Lockhart had 12 points and five assists for Lee (19-4, 15-2).
Jordan Smith scored 31 points and Jasmine Hammon had 21 points for UAH (15-9, 10-8), which limited German to seven shots from the field, but she hit 13 of 14 free throws.
Bryce Copeland scored 14 points and rice Sharp added 12 for the Flames (9-14, 5-12), while Chad Lee had 10 rebounds with eight points.
• At Dayton, Tenn., Bryan College swept visiting Truett-McConnell in an AAC doubleheader, 45-30 despite 25 percent shooting in the women’s game and 70-69 in the men’s with 33 points and 10 rebounds from Brandon Cole, 23 points on six 3s from Robert Troino and 13 rebounds from Derrick Walker.
