photo “Woman With Parasol” by Marge Sherilla is among the works included in a silent auction during “A Celebration of the Hands” at Grace Episcopal Church.

GraceCreates, a band of ardent art supporters from Grace Episcopal Church, will present an evening of wine, music and objets d’art Saturday, May 10, at the church, 20 Belvoir Ave. “A Celebration of the Hands” runs from 6 to 9 p.m., with bidding in a silent auction ending at 8 p.m.

The auction is designed as an opportunity for the community to get better acquainted with local artists in an intimate setting.

“This is a great chance for Chattanoogans to get together and revel in the abundant talent we have in our community and to engage with these gifted artists,” said Grace’s rector, the Rev. Susan Butler.

Auctiongoers will be able to visit with the artists and bid on their work while enjoying wine, heavy hors d’oeuvres and the music of local singer Andrew Chauncey.

Items to be auctioned include paintings, sculpture, photography, pottery, fabric arts and art lessons. Details about each piece are available for preview at www.saygrace.net.

Admission is $25, which includes two glasses of wine.
