Traffic now a mess
Every day at approximately 4:30 p.m., Chattanooga takes a deep breath of semi-clean air and begins a two-hour process of strangling in its own traffic.
On May 8, it took me 45 minutes to go from the I-24/Highway 27 split to the top of the ridge cut — this with no accidents. Reason? Commuters and hundreds of trucks three abreast crawling up the ridge cut. It is like this every day, Monday-Friday.
Alternate routes? Amnicola, Brainerd Road, Highway 58, Bonny Oaks and East Brainerd Road are similarly congested. If we don’t arrive at a solution, Chattanooga will be avoided like the plague because of our horrendous traffic.
One solution? No truck traffic on I-24 through Chattanooga from 4 to 7 p.m. — period. Another solution? All trucks must use the far right-hand lane on I-24 through Chattanooga — no exceptions.
If it takes them three hours to get through town, maybe their schedulers will get smart and route them through at midnight.

Sick of political correctness
Our country is so turned upside down!
Tim Tebow was ostracized for being a Christian, but Michael Sam is so special because he is gay.
We have turned our back on God. What’s good is bad and what’s bad is good.
We have to stand up for things that are right and not be afraid to speak the truth in love to others. We still have freedom of speech in this country, but it won’t last much longer if we buckle to this political correctness!
I’m sick of this!
