The five musicians of Presidio Brass will bring their hit touring show, “Sounds of the Cinema,” to Athens, Tenn., on Friday, Nov. 7. The show, presented by the Athens Area Council for the Arts as part of the 2014-15 Big Time/Small Town Performance Season, starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Athens City Middle School auditorium, 200 Keith Lane. Selections will include jazz and classical music used in movies and soundtracks, combining the players’ blazing technique with a dose of humor. As part of their music education outreach, the musicians will conduct a master class for local band students earlier in the day and share the stage with the young performers during the concert. Individual tickets are $18 for adults ($20 at the door, if available) and $10 for students. They may be purchased by phone at 423-745-8781, online at www.athensartscouncil.org or in person at The Arts Center, 320 N. White St. in Athens.
