PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) – The last thing New Hampshire voter Nancy Vawter expected when she went online with her granddaughter to watch Raffi sing “Wheels on the Bus” was an Internet ad for Scott Brown, the Republican challenging Sen. Jeanne Shaheen.
But parents vote, and grandparents, too.
And as a result, the ad wars have reached even the feel-silly online world of children’s entertainers in one of several close races that will determine whether Republicans gain a Senate majority.
If the race is like others, it is unique in at least one respect.
The 55-year-old Brown moved to the state from Massachusetts to run.
By contrast, the 67-year-old Shaheen was in the New Hampshire Legislature and won three terms as governor. She lost a Senate race in 2002 before winning one six years later.
