An EF-1 tornado touched down in Ringgold, Ga., last night, causing significant damage.

The tornado had maximum winds of 110 miles per hour.

It touched down just north of the city at approximately 7:40 p.m. and caused about seven homes significant damage, according to officials on the scene.

Residents' belongings were scattered in different directions around Morning Glory Drive, where the damage occurred. The owners of the homes were evacuated.

Several homeowners also said they don't believe any warning was issued prior to the storm hitting. They did not recall any sirens or warnings issued on television.

Wednesday morning, sheriff's and Catoosa County zoning officials, as well as construction crews, were on site to assess the damage and start the clean-up process.

At this time no injuries or fatalities have been reported.

The path and width of the tornado is currently unknown, officials said.
