Fatal crash

Just after 9 a.m. this morning, a crash involving a motorcycle and tractor trailer resulted in the death of Earl Winn, 72, from Winchester.

The crash happened on I-24 around mile marker 165, according to a police reporter from the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Traffic ahead of Winn slowed down, causing a backup, and Winn was unable to decelerate quickly enough. The report said Winn’s motorcycle then crashed into the rear of a tractor trail and continued sliding east on the interstate.

No information was obtained on the tractor trailer, which continued on east, according to the report.

Winn was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. No further information is known at this time.
