PLC sees upgrades

The courtyard at the Performance Learning Center got a facelift with all new picnic tables donated by local businesses.

Shaw Industries workers lay flooring in a classroom inside the PLC.

"Great things happen with United Way" is the slogan for the project at the Performance Learning Center. It is a partnership between United Way, Shaw Industries, the PLC and Communities in Schools, which is housed at the PLC.

A team of 40 Shaw Industries volunteers takes a break from working together to lay flooring and paint walls at the Performance Learning Center in Fort Oglethorpe. The PLC is an alternative school for local students who struggle in a traditional class setting.

Shaw Industries supervisors partner with Communities in Schools and the PLC for renovations to the school. From left are CIS Executive Director Suzanne Chovanec, PLC Principal Sharon Vaughn, and Laura Porter, Justin Williams and Jack Cash of Shaw.
