Chattanooga Presents has announced the final artist selections for the 27th Nightfall concert season, which begins May 1 and continues every Friday until Aug. 28.
The weekly performances at Miller Plaza feature regional and national acts paired with local openers. This year’s headliner schedule includes selections such as Austin, Texas-based roots rockers The Band of Heathens, neo-string band ensemble Spirit Family Reunion and indie pop vocalist/violinist Kishi Bashi.
For the fifth year running, the local artist who won the Road to Nightfall battle of the bands will be featured in a headlining spot. This year’s winner, Ryan Oyer Band, finished top of the heap at the finals on Saturday, April 4, and will perform on July 10.
Chattanooga Presents Executive Director Carla Pritchard says that, in the interest of making concession purchases more expedient, vendors this year will accept cash and credit cards for drink purchases instead of the traditional ticketing system used in the past.
“We’ll just deal with cash and credit cards. That’ll be a nice thing,” Pritchard said. “A lot of those logistics will be reworked with that in mind.”
