The Jackson Generals were in a giving mood Sunday night, and the Chattanooga Lookouts were more than willing to receive.

They did so all the way to an 8-2 victory in the opening game of a five-game series in Jackson.

The tone for the night was set in the third inning, when Jairo Rodriguez led off with a double to right field and scored off a throwing error on a pickoff attempt.

Chattanooga's 1-0 lead grew to 3-0 in the sixth, when the Generals allowed three walks, threw two wild pitches and sustained a passed ball. The Lookouts scored three more runs in the seventh courtesy of two Jackson fielding errors.

Rodriguez finished 2-for-4 with a walk, Shannon Wilkerson was 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI, Jorge Polanco had a hit, a walk and two RBIs, Adam Walker drew three walks and Travis Harrison walked twice.

Brett Lee (2-4) pitched five scoreless innings to earn the win, giving up five hits and a walk while striking out four.

Chattanooga is now 14-20 in the second half of the Southern League season and 57-45 overall this year after winning the first-half division title.

Game two of the series is tonight at 8:05 EDT. D.J. Baxendale (4-2, 4.10) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Dylan Unsworth (1-4, 6.21) scheduled for the Generals.
